The work consists generally of supplying all labour, materials, equipment and incidentals for the relocation and upsizing of a portion of an existing 750mm diameter concrete/brick combined sewer outfall pipe that currently extends from the end of Kennedy Street to approximately 225 m westward into the Saint John River. Work involves the upsizing of a portion of the outfall pipe, relocation of the outfall along the shoreline and abandonment of the remaining outfall pipe that extends into the river.

Work will also involve the grubbing of the project ROW limits, the removal of a section of the existing combined sewer outfall and existing structures, rock excavation for the pipe installation, supply and installation of new 1200mm diameter combined sewer outfall pipe complete with precast concrete outfall headwall and grate, internal backflow preventer, temporary connections and/or temporary bypass pumping to maintain flows in the existing storm and combined sewers, connections to the existing storm and combined sewer systems, relocation of a section of the existing 150mm dia. sanitary forcemain on Kennedy Street, supply and installation of manholes, supply and installation of a bar screen in the existing combined sewer overflow vault (COM-MH-058610), backfilling, commissioning and testing of installations, construction of a permanent access road over the pipe installation, supply and installation of a vehicle access gate, supply and planting of nursery trees, common and rock excavation for the construction of the access road, supply and placement of imported pit-run gravel subbase and granular base material for the access road, riprap slope protection, landscaping, and trench restoration on Kennedy Street.
